US EQUITY
Fundamental Analysis
(18th Apr): the S&P 500 index closed lower, led by a drop in health-care providers on concern about policy changes. Investors have been growing more optimistic that the anticipated drop in the first quarter earnings won’t spoil the year as results continue to pour in. Chinese data Wednesday showed stabilization in the world’s second largest economy and helped to ease fears about the slowdown in global growth. Still, volumes are low and will likely remain so ahead of the upcoming Easter holidays in many countries.
(17th Apr): Major stock indexes rallied as earnings season kicked off with better-than-expected quarterly results for a number of bellwether companies. But the early solid gains for the major indexes shrank late in the day as some traders questioned the underlying strength of earnings. Again, views remain more neutral today.
(16th Apr): Wall Street closed slightly lower Monday after mixed corporate results. The S&P index slipped from a six month high, halting a three-day advance, as earnings season kicked into high gear. Sentiment was hit after Goldman Sachs Inc missed estimates for sales and trading revenue, while Citigroup also fell after its revenue matched expectations.
With chinese trade and lending data showing signs of improvement for the world’s second-biggest economy, investors are turning to the US earnings season to confirm the resilience of corporate America in the face of numerous challenges to growth. Investors are also closely monitoring Fed-related developments amid fears of a potential cut in rates. Speaking to CNBC on Monday, Chicago Federal Reserve President Charles Evans said that he’d be comfortable leaving interest rates untouched until autumn 2020.
Us stock index futures moved higher this morning as market participants await further earning reports. However view remains relatively neutral as more earning reports get released.
(15th Apr) : Trade talk seems going well and cheers the market up. US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said an American-China trade agreement would go “way beyond” previous efforts to open China’s markets to US companies and hoped that the two sides were close to the final round of negotiations. Optimism grows that the U.S. and China are near to a trade talk solution and supports the risk-on sentiment.

Fundamental Analysis
(18th Apr) : CAD soared following an encouraging set of inflation figures, while the headline figures printed in line with estimates. BoC’s preferred measure of inflation jumped to 1.96% from 1.9% which in turn may see the BoC keeping its option of a rate hike open. Oil, however is set for a weekly loss as rally driven by… [/blur][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” text_align=”left” background_animation=”none” css_animation=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”35px”][vc_row_inner row_type=”row” type=”full_width” use_row_as_full_screen_section_slide=”no” text_align=”left” css_animation=””][vc_column_inner width=”1/5″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”3/5″][vc_separator type=”normal” color=”#b70909″ border_style=””][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/5″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space height=”35px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” text_align=”left” background_animation=”none” css_animation=””][vc_column width=”1/5″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/5″][kswr_heading head_align=”center” head_subtitle_color=”#333333″ head_title=”ACCESS RESTRICTED” head_title_fsize=”font-size:23px;line-height:2;” head_title_fstyle=”font-family:Inherit;font-weight:700;” head_subtitle_fsize=”font-size:17px;line-height:1.5;” head_subtitle_fstyle=”font-family:Inherit;font-weight:inherit;” head_title_margins=”margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;” head_subtitle_margins=”margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;”]Our comprehensive daily reports covers both technical and fundamental analysis, and are customised to your requirements.
